Mr. Hamamoto’s practice includes sophisticated estate planning and administration, business and financial planning, income tax planning for individuals, corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, and charitable organizations.
Mr. Hamamoto’s estate planning experience includes structuring estate and business succession plans for individuals and members of their families, including multinational families. His estate administration experience involves the post-mortem administration of trust matters, probate administration and litigation, and business succession planning.
Mr. Hamamoto’s tax practice includes experience in matters related to federal and state income taxation, estate and gift taxation, international taxation, and local sales, use and property tax. He is experienced in domestic and international tax planning for all business structures, as well as individual tax advice. Mr. Hamamoto also has represented taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and California Franchise Tax Board.
Mr. Hamamoto has experience with charitable gift planning and charitable organizations, including serving as legal counsel to other charitable organizations.
Prior to joining Lamb & Kawakami, Mr. Hamamoto practiced in Santa Barbara, California and in New Jersey, where he developed a broad knowledge in all aspects of estate and tax planning and post-mortem trust administration.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Hamamoto served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Robert M. Takasugi, United States District Court, Central District of California as an extern in the Office of the United States Tax Attorney, Tax Division, and worked in the public accounting and banking fields.
